Thursday Song
Saturday, January 31st, 2009Well, I’ve written now 151 songs in as many days.
As the people who have been following Daily Song already know, I never really planned Daily Song out beforehand. For example, the website has changed drastically many times. Also, I have never known for how long I would keep writing a song every day.
What I did know is this: When I decided to move to Brooklyn, I really didn’t want to be “that-guy-who-moved-to-Brooklyn-to-try-and-become-a-musician-and-then-didn’t.” So, I came up with the idea of Daily Song. I moved to Brooklyn on September 1st, and began writing a song every day on September 2nd.
It’s been exactly 152 days from that day (I just checked the top of the website). So far, I’ve given away every song for free, and many people have been listening and enjoying the songs. I’ve received a lot of great feedback, and thank you to everyone for listening!
Now, after so many days, I’m excited to announce a brand-new part of Daily Song, THURSDAY SONG!
Thursday Song is a weekly event, like Text-me-a-Tune Tuesday. For Thursday Song, I will spend all week writing and recording a song, instead of just one day. On the other days of the week, I will still write Daily Songs as usual. The Daily Songs will still be free to hear, but Thursday Songs will cost $1.
The blimp will contain a thirty second sample of the Thursday Song, so that you can try-before-you-buy. Also, there are literally hundreds of full free songs in the blimp for you to listen to.
So, sometime between now (Saturday 1/31) and this next coming Thursday, the website will be changing to work in Thursday Song. The first Thursday Song will be this upcoming Thursday, February 5th. If you like my music, I’d really appreciate it if you check my first Thursday Song!
